Bribery case opened against employee of Russian colony

On Sakhalin, a criminal case was opened on a bribe against an employee of one of the colonies. This is reported on website regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the investigation, in May 2021, the 44-year-old suspect received through an intermediary 200 thousand rubles for changing the detention regime for one of the prisoners. The investigation is currently ongoing and evidence is being collected. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in relation to the suspect is being resolved.

Earlier in Tyumen, the former head of the Tyumen correctional colony No. 1 Igor Chursin was sentenced to eight years in prison for bribes. According to the investigation, from 2016 until his arrest in June 2019, he took over 11.8 million rubles from the convicts and their acquaintances. He provided a 36-year-old repeat offender with a room with comfortable rooms, some of which the offender began to rent to other prisoners. For his services, Chursin received a one-room apartment, a parking space and 8.6 million rubles.
