The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) declared this Friday (23) that the sale of Oi’s operations to rivals Tim, Telefônica Brasil and Claro, from América Móvil, is “complex”.
In press release posted on your website, the agency says that its superintendency may ask for an extension of the deadline to analyze the case.

In December 2021, Tim, Claro and Telefônica Brasil won the auction to buy Oi’s mobile telephony operations for R$ 16.5 billion. Oi filed for bankruptcy protection in 2016 and seeks to raise assets to pay creditors.
Although classification as “complex” increases the chances of rejection or approval with restriction, the final decision rests with Cade’s board.
