Cabeza de Vaca appoints new head of the governor’s office

René de Jesús Medellín Blanco was appointed new head of the Tamaulipas Governor’s Office replacing David Cerda Zúñiga, who left office to become a magistrate.

The appointment was delivered by the governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, who a few days ago announced changes in his cabinet.

Medellín Blanco had been performing since February 2020 as Undersecretary of Expenditures of the Secretary of Finance of the Tamaulipas government and from Thursday the 25th he assumed his new responsibility.

He is a teacher in Administration and Public Policies, from the School of Public Policies; in Public Management from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey; in Economics, Law and Public Policies from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain; and in Finance and Business from the University of Essex, England.

Since February 2017 he has held various positions in the structure of the state government and has held positions in the Secretaries of Administration and Finance.

Medellín Blanco has also served as Deputy General Director of Administration and Finance of Agroasemex SA (2013-2017) and as Head of Delegation Services of the Mexican Institute of Social Security Tamaulipas delegation (2008-2013)

He has also been a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, teaching the Chair of Economics (2004-2008).

It is worth mentioning that during this week, the governor also gave another appointment for the representative of the Tamaulipas government in Mexico City.
