Full trailer truck a tire that came off during the ride caused an accident on Thursday night in Mikkeli.
The accident happened on Highway 5 in Nuutilanmäki, Mikkeli. A tire detached from the truck hit a passenger car, which derailed out of the roadway and spun into a ditch on its roof. The Rescue Department received an alert for the car accident at half past nine in the evening.
The bystanders who had hit the scene of the accident had started providing first aid to the driver of the car when the rescue service arrived.
The driver of the car was taken to Mikkeli Central Hospital for treatment. There were no passengers in the car at the time of the incident.
According to the rescue service, the car was badly damaged in the accident.
